Push for Literacy

Push for Literacy is the second fundraising event hosted by Dovercourt in partnership with the Toronto Police Services. Superintendent Heinz Kuck from 11 Division will push a steel sled for 3 kilometers to raise money for the refurbishment of the Club's book collection and literacy program.

Our purpose

Push for Literacy aims to show and nourish our community and members the importance of reading and writing.

Our goal

Six years ago, we met our goal of $7,500 and raised a total of $10,000 to fundraise for the Club's Music Makers Program. Through the money raised, the Club was able to purchase new keyboards and guitars and allowed members to partake in musical lessons that were not accessible prior to their involvement with our Club.

This year, we hope to provide the same opportunities to members so they can cultivate their skills in a different form of art and may possibly fall in love with expressing themselves through the written word.
