Here at Kids Korner, we believe that early childhood should be a time of fun, warmth, security, exploration, and discovery. Children are creative and receptive as well as competent and capable, and our staff serve to nurture and encourage these qualities. The centre in the BGC Dovercourt Club and our Before and After School satellite program within St. Anthony Catholic School, both strive to provide an atmosphere that encourages social, emotional, physical and intellectual growth, and the development of children's self-esteem, and extends their curiosity.

Kids Korner Daycare Reopening - COVID-19 Policies & Procedures

Given the COVID-19 situation we are amidst, Kid Korner Daycare will operate under specific policies and procedures to ensure and increase the health and safety of children, staff and families. Please note, these guidelines are subject to change as per the direction of the Ministry of Education Child Care, Ministry of Health and local Public Health Units.

As per licensing laws, returning families must read and sign off on the Kids Korner Reopening Policy Declaration Form before their child/ren return to daycare. Please email your form to Kaitlaind@dovercourtkids.com or bring a hard copy of the declaration with you on July 8th, 2020.

About Kids Korner Daycare

Licensed Child Care Kids Korner Daycare is operated by not-for-profit agency BGC Dovercourt Club located at 180 Westmoreland Avenue Toronto, ON M6H 3A2. The Centre is licensed by the Ontario Ministry of Education and has a Purchase of Service Agreement with the City of Toronto Children's Services. Care is offered at 2 sites.

The Centre is staffed with qualified Registered Early Childhood Educators and they are currently trained in child and youth CPR and First Aid. Staff members are knowledgeable about the Childcare and Early Years Act.  Children between the ages of 2.5 to 12 years old receive care and nurturing in an enriched learning environment that is in compliance and meets legislative requirements. 

The programs are offered in two separate sites and are designed for:

• Preschool children (2. 5-4 years old)
• Before and Aftercare for Full Day Kindergarten (4-5 years old)
• School age children (6-12 years old)

Program curriculum for such care includes stories, songs, and language development: creative activities in art and drama and gross motor activities: field trips and community exploration; science and nature activities; self-help skills and social and emotional development.

Hours of Operation

Kids Korner Preschool, full time and part time care (180 Westmoreland Ave):

The hours of operation for the Preschool Program is 7:30am-6:00pm.

St. Anthony Catholic School

Summer and P.A day programs: 7:00am-6:00pm

Before and After Care Program: 7:00am-8:30am and 3:00pm-6:00pm

Waitlist

There is a waitlist for enrollment for all three programs (Preschool children, Before and Aftercare for Full Day Kindergarten, and School Age children). The waitlists of applicants are in chronological order of their inquiries. If spots become available, the Daycare Supervisor will contact the parents at the top of the list to pursue filling any new vacancies. There is no fee charged for a child to be placed on the waitlist.
